The Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (iMPO) is the designated local body charged with conducting a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive transportation planning processes in the urbanized area of central Indiana. Clerk-Treasurer misses another Fund Report
Southport Clerk-Treasurer (CT), Diana Bossingham was unable to provide the monthly Fund Report at the May Council meeting. The previous CT, Kathy Hildebrand was frequently admonished for not consistently offering timely reports to the Southport Council for review. RDC Established in Southport
Southport Council members established the City’s first Redevelopment Commission (RDC) at their monthly meeting this past Monday night with little fanfare. It’s been 4 long years after former Mayor Robin Thoman first introduced the benefits of an RDC to the Southport Council. Mayoral (3) and Council (2) appointments for RDC Commissioners were announced at the same meeting. Russell McClure (certified urban planner), Duane Langreck (registered architect) and James Keller (licensed plumber) were announced as Mayor Testruth’s appointees while Jim Cooney (councilmember) and southside realtor Roger Harris were noted as Common Council appointments. Asst. Chief Bick resigns from SoPD
Southport Mayor, Jesse Testruth confirmed at Monday nights Council meeting that “Wild Bill” Bick has resigned from his appointed position as Southport’s Assistant Chief of Police. Testruth announced that IMPD officer, Curtis Johnson would be serving as Deputy Chief “until this big mess gets straightened out”. Southport Aware of Suspect 12 hours Before Murder
Mayor Testruth confirmed at the 21May12 Council meeting that he was indeed notified that Lori Barcroft was sleeping on a picnic table Friday night 18MAY12 - the evening before tragedy struck the Iseminger family and Southport community. Barcroft was later arrested the next morning, 19MAY12 on suspicion of murder. Testruth did not reveal if he alerted suspended SoPD Chief Randy Ellison. Tragedy Strikes Southport
It is with surprise, sadness and sorrow that I learned that Southport and humanity has lost a friend today. The Indianapolis Star is reporting that Bethel Memorial Pastor and Southport neighbor, Jaman Iseminger was senselessly shot and killed earlier this morning at his church on Southport Rd. He is survived by his devoted wife Amanda and two year old daughter. Pastor Jaman‘s parents, Gina and Scott Iseminger have lived and served in our community for decades. … Read entire article »
